Quick Dearden Update!

Hey all,

I thought it might be time to give you a Macie and Dearden update.  First of all, if you have seen Macie recently, you know that she is as healthy as can be!  As of this week, she will be completely weaned off of her seizure medicine.  According to her neurologist, the fluid on her brain is continually being absorbed and she is showing no signs of brain sensitivity!  Praise the Lord!  She also in the 93% for weight, so she is real healthy!

She has quite a personality!

In other news, I recently accepted a part-time position at my former school!  While I had a burning desire to stay home with Macie, my heart was heavy knowing that I wouldn’t be teaching this year.  Earlier this summer, I was offered a part time position at DECA, but it pulled me away from Macie longer than I wanted to be and it didn’t work out financially for our family.  I prayed for peace about the decision and asked the Lord to open another door.  The Lord knows the desires of our heart!  Two weeks later, my boss called me and asked if I would come back for an increase in pay for teaching the two Anatomy classes for three days a week instead of the initial five!  This opportunity will allow me to spend most of my time throughout the week with Macie, but I will be able continue investing in the lives of my students as well!  Again, praise the Lord!

As many of you know, last week Matt started a new job at LexisNexis.  He also decided to start his own firm, focusing on serving small businesses (something he has dreamt about doing for some time)!  And as of last week, we bought a house!  We will be moving to Centerville to be closer to our places of work and we close on our new home September 2nd!  Praise the Lord!

Matt and I stand back and marvel at how the Lord is working in our lives.  Three months ago, we had no idea what we were doing for health care, jobs, and there were many uncertainties surrounding Macie’s health.  I was anxious about the future, but we serve a God that cares for us, loves us and provides for us.  He is so good and He deserves all our praise!
